Ideally, you want to let your body control its menstrual cycle naturally. But it is possible to postpone a period. You might want to do this if you’re going to be travelling somewhere where it’s hard to keep fresh, or if you have bad period pains and are going to be sitting a final exam at school. You should never try to experiment with postponing your period by yourself: if you need to postpone it, talk to a gynaecologist, school nurse, or someone at a young person’s clinic.
