A normal discharge has no smell when it leaves your body. But as soon as it comes into contact with oxygen, it can start to smell. The smell can also differ at different times during the menstrual cycle. You can stay fresh by showering and changing your underwear or pantyliner every day. You should also let your genital region breathe, so sleeping without panties is a good idea. You should wash your genital region with warm water once a day, and when you have your period, you can wash it twice a day. You should use a soap designed for personal hygiene – good ones are available from the pharmacy. If your discharges start to smell bad, you should see a doctor because you might have an infection.
