Our collective impact

We are continuosly working to address the realities of periods and environmental impact. It reflects directly into how so far our brand have swtiched designs for our disposable and reusable products using assessed materials and better packaging choices (renewable, plastic-free and recyclable materials)

We champion the health of women+* by dismantling taboos and shame around their bodies. But caring for women+ also means caring for the world around them.

On this page you’ll find not only our goals, but what we’re currently doing to become more sustainable. We’re honest and open about everything, from vulvas to periods to discharge. So naturally, we want to be as transparent about our sustainability goals as we are about clots and clumps.

Examples of activities to reach our goal

Our brand supports women’s wellbeing as part of Essity, which has science‑based climate targets, including a 35% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.

Recyclable Material

During 2025 we started to introduce a new recyclable wrap for the ultra thin towels in our assortment, and our goal is to have this implemented for all of our ultra thin towels by the end of 2026. This will make all our wraps classified as recyclable (according to recycles classification)

Renewable practices

All of our factories in Europe use 100% certified renewable energy. Renewable energy comes from sources such as water, wind or solar. The electricity in our factories is purchased externally and is certified with guarantees of origin. These certificates are issued by external institutes like the European Electricity Certification System (EECS) to secure credibility.

Recycled Content

We have in the last 3 years increased the amount of PCR (post consumer recycled plastic) in our plastic packaging. In 2025 we reached the share of 60% in all our bags. This is contributing to reducing the use of virgin plastic material

Reduction of Plastic

We have been working on two main projects to enable us to switch to plastic free and renewable material. Since 2022, on the development of a paper wrap to replace the current plastic wrap in our products with an aim to start tests in 2027 and since 2025 we have been studying processes to replace the plastic packaging for our ultrathin towels with a paper packaging.

Reduction of Waste

We have and are continuing to strive for our products to be more efficient. This by designing them using less material while keeping the performance of our products. Reducing the weight of the materials in the products is reducing the amount of waste. An example of this is the reduction of weight for Libresse Ultra normal towel with 12,8% between 2019-2025.  This means that for 1000 products we are reducing the waste by 736 grams.

Reduction of Climate Impact

We are continuously measuring the climate impact of our innovations with LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) and every 2nd year we are measuring the total environmental impact of our assortment sold in Europe. These overall assortment LCAs are verified by a 3rd party, and between 2017 and 2024 we reduced the CO2 eq./Fu with 4% for liners and 10% for towels.

We’re progressing step by step and we’re committed to going further for women+ and the world around us. Because real care goes beyond products. Actions rooted in care, equity and progress.
