‘Designer Vagina’ is the fastest growing cosmetic surgery globally*. Girls as young as 9** are requesting it. It’s technically called labiaplasty – a procedure that shortens or reshapes the lips of the vulva to make them look ‘neater’.
Vulva shame is wrong on many levels. And it’s a huge problem, affecting almost half of women (44%), with millions risking their health by avoiding cervical screenings.
So we’re turning the phrase ‘Designer Vagina’ on its head. We’ve launched a bursary for students to design garments that represent vulvas in beautiful and positive ways. Because we all need to get to know our vulvas. And love them. Just the way they are.
If you would like to enter, and to foster a more open, honest and celebratory culture for women, we welcome submissions from all students.
Entries will be judged by a panel of industry leaders, and five winners will be awarded a bursary to complete the creation of their garments. The winning garments will be showcased across Bodyform channels.
OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS:
Deadline for entries: 23:59 on 10th November 2019.
